Children in Need

The team that The mortgage monkey really got behind this years Children in Need raising £116 - thanks to the generosity of all concerned.

Staff & visitors at the offices at Grove House, Chineham Court, Basingstoke were greeted this morning by THE MORTGAGE MONKEY

Everyone was also given a free banana - kindly donated by Tescos, Chineham.

Comic Relief

Staff at The mortgage monkey got into the swing of things in aid of Comic Relief.

The day started with the firm’s Monkey mascot and staff, sporting red noses and red wigs, greeting staff arriving at offices at Grove House, Chineham Court. Workers were encouraged to make a donation to the Red Nose Day appeal, and were given a banana by The mortgage monkey to say thank-you. The bananas were kindly donated by Tesco, Chineham.

The mortgage monkey was set a challenge for the morning to take part in various sporting activities and also to get his photo taken in as many shiny new cars in Basingstoke’s car dealers as possible.

First stop was to Planet Ice, where The mortgage monkey donned a pair of skates and braved the ice to do a spot of skating with the help of some of the figure skaters

Next stop was at the Bowlplex 10-pin bowling centre where The mortgage monkey scored a ‘strike’ with his first ball. He also proved a big hit with the customers!

Both the ice skating and bowling were featured on BBC South Today’s round-up of Red Nose Day events.

The rest of the morning was spent visiting car showrooms in the town. The mortgage monkey had his photo taken in lots of shiny new cars, thanks to the staff at the various dealerships concerned. He even caused quite a stir when he set the alarms off on one cabriolet!

The total amount collected on the day was £266.00. The Board of The mortgage monkey and also that of sister company, Allwin Tax Planners & Portfolio Managers, have each pledged to donate £100, making the total raised for Comic Relief a fantastic £466.
